A Creative Workshop class, Altered Domino Books with Terri Heinz, was one of my Christmas gifts from my daughter. Last year I started to altered dominoes by making some pins and a couple of pendents. Now I can add making books to that list. Below are some photos from my first two books. I really enjoyed taking this class with Terri. I appreciate her teaching techniques. She talks about and shows her process of design. She explains what she is doing and then demonstrates how, she also shares lots of tips. I will be making more books. If you would like to meet Terri hop over to her blog, Artful Affirmations. You can get a sense of her talent and teaching skills by reading some of her posts and watching her free tutorials.
My first book - Take Time
These images are from June at Dezinaworld and Gecko Galz
oops, this close-up shows I need to touch up the Stickles...
My second book - Birds, Bees, And Butterflies
This book cover is my favorite so far. The background is a paper napkin that I stamped and coated with Diamond Glaze. The feathers are from my Love Bird.
These birds, bees, and butterflies from Gecko Galz are some of my favorite images.
I found a perfect sheet for this theme in a paper-stack book.
I used the printed side for the back of my book and glued the images to the plain white side of the sheet for the book pages.
It was fun stamping the tiny bird images on the ribbon...
I like the idea of adding a little sound...
Yes, Joy...

Linda, your domino books are gorgeous! Oh, yes, and I think the little bell adds quite a bit of joy. You know, I recently saw some manufactured domino necklaces in the grocery store, and I must say that they were NOTHING like what you creative gals have so lovingly made with the dominoes.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy a beautiful day,
Marianne xo
Too sweet - lovely tiny treasures!

Oh you have even more pictures here! Yay! I love seeing all the amazing details in your domino book. I saw all the ones you posted on the Creative Workshops site. But they seem easier to see here. Your ribbon is done so well, and the feet are great too! I love the floral theme through out your book. I love it all, but my favorite part is the gorgeous back! The feather is the cherry on top! I am so glad you enjoyed the class : )
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Terri
