Beautiful And Natural ~

Happy Pink Saturday!
You might remember these beautiful roses. The roses in the large vase were a gift to me from my secret blogging sister. The roses in the smaller vase were from table decorations at my great granddaughter's 1st birthday party. I could not bring myself to throw these beauties away.
Here they are again - dried and still beautiful -
The two little roses are going into a glass Christmas ball as a keepsake.
I'm not sure what I'll do with the other dried roses. In the meantime I'll continue to enjoy them. Thank you again Secret Blogging Sister.
Below is another natural beauty. A Box Turtle. We found him/her heading under our car in the driveway. We're not sure if he/she was trying to get to the shade or taking a short cut to the spring on the opposite side. The markings on the turtle's body and shell are gorgeous. The roses and the turtle both creations by the ultimate artist, beautiful and natural.
Happy Pink Saturday Everyone!

  4. That is a wonderful way to keep our treasures. I love roses but never was successful at drying them.

  5. The ultimate Artist indeed, my friend. AMAZING!! Love the roses, and I especially like the dried version.
Funny that you mention finding the turtle under your car because my husband spotted one going under our neighbor's car last week too. He was so afraid that they would not notice it, that he picked it up (huge one) and walked it over to the neighborhood lake. Sadly, I was out and missed all the action. ;) Their shell is a work of art.

Thank you for adding the Snow in July button.
    Happy PINKS!!!

  10. Linda, the flowers are lovely, and still lovely dried and waiting to be used as memorabilia.

The turtle is quite fellow. We have them here, too, as we live near a creek in Texas.

Growing up in New Jersey, there were plenty of mountainous areas, and in the town I grew up in, there is one in particular rocky terrain or bluff called "Turtle Back Rock" because the rock surface are covered with designs which resemble the turtle's shell. Amazing. The Lenni Lenape Indians where indigenous to the area and it's suspected that their Turtle Clan was named for the rock formations. If you'd like to see a photo example here is the link.

  14. Hi Linda, I lopve your roses!! The dried blooms look pretty just as they are... I usually display my dried roses for a while, then add them to the top of potpourri (which usually doesn't look pretty) to give it a nicer look.
