Sweet 16 party.
Last Saturday afternoon my niece had her 16th birthday party. She choose to have a chocolate cake with a lavender fondant with a strawberry filling. YUM! Sorry, I didn't get a shot of the filling...
One of her interests currently is Ballywood dancing which is what inspired me to make her the journal below. I used a plain spiral bound notebook. I took an image of Ballywood dancers, with the help of Photoshop, I removed the face of one of the dancers and replaced it with a picture of my niece. I added some text to the image. I added some pretty pink decorative paper and silk ribbons to the outside front. A map of India (notice the pink) is on the outside back cover. I added a few other items to the inside including the bright pink envelope containing a birthday card and money gift.
Then I wrapped it in a piece of shimmery fabric. The fabric will be fun to wear while dancing.
Of course it had a pink bow!
Another niece at the party was kind enough to allow me to photograph the back of her hoodie. Wow, the things we do for Pink Saturday -
And that sums it all up "we love pink!"
Thanks to Beverly at How Sweet The Sound we are going to have another Happy Pink Saturday
Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday Linda Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling share today. I love the cake. It looks so beautiful, and I am sure it was SO yummy.
I love the little balls, that look like pearls around the bottom edge. That is so pretty.
Now I have not heard of Ballywood dancing, but what fun it looks like. I love the idea you used of putting your neices' face on that of the dancer and making her a journal. So original and the netting wrapping is just beautiful. You are so creative, and I know it had to have been the hit of the party.
I love that pink jacket. That is so stinkin cute. My oldest grand daughter would be drooling over that for sure.
A beautiful time at the party. Everything was so gorgeous. Thank you for sharing sweetie. I hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday. Country hugs and much love, Sherry
