Celebration Hope Banner Winner...

Here are the entries.
If you left a comment you had one chance. A follower and a comment gave you 2 chances. A follower, a comment, and adding my celebration button to your side bar gave you 3 chances.

Entry strips were folded and tossed into a basket.

I asked my lovely assistant, Emma (my granddaughter), to pick a slip.
((((A DRUM ROLL PLEASE! ))))

The lucky winner is Deborah at Miss Bee's Haven.

Thanks to everyone who helped me to celebrate my milestone.

I would also like to thank a dear friend, Cindy Adkins, for being so thoughtful. She made this beautiful tag for me!

One World One Heart Event~

One World One Heart Event!

This is the first time I am participating in this event which is in its 5th and final year, according to the creator of the event, Lisa at A Whimsical Bohemian.
I'm excited about taking this journey around the world of creative bloggers.

Lisa tells us to introduce ourselves:
My name is Linda. I am a proud American from the state of Pennsylvania. I'm married, I have three grown children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. I'm a cancer survivor. I dabble in sewing, knitting, painting, calligraphy, writing, mix-media art, digital arts and anything else creative that comes along and tickles my fancy. I am thrilled to have found this blogging world of creative people.

Thank you for stopping by, please leave a comment so I can hop to your blog to meet you and if you leave a comment on on this post you will have a chance to win my door prize. My prize is a journal cover that is a heat embossed and stamped craft foam sheet. I added 24 sheets of 55 lb. parchment paper to the inside. I've entered an Italic calligraphy quotation on the first page of the journal. Also included is a 3" by 3" mini-book covered in marbled paper with an accordion folded hand lettered quotation inside. Lastly, I'm including a tag in shades of chocolate to welcome Spring. I hope you like them.

Beneath The Sea~Spot Challenge

Beneath The Sea is the name of this weeks Spot Challenge at Dezinaworld. I didn't think I had anything to enter and I didn't have any ideas. Then I remember that I still had this gift box that I made several years ago. I've always had a thing for up-cycling boxes. For this box I used a fish pattern tissue paper that I crinkled up and then ironed the sheet to freezer wrap paper. I used Mod Podge to apply the paper to the lid. For the bottom of the box I applied torn pieces of tissue paper with the Mod Podge. The card and envelope were made using the tissue paper and freezer wrap technique. The ribbon and bow are raffia. A sea shell is glued to the flap of the envelope and a cluster of shells are glued to the center of the faux sea weed bow. I think I liked this gift box too much and that is why I still have it. I'm going to link this to June's Spot Challenge. Hop over to her blog to see other entries for "Beneath The Sea."

"Kindred Spirits"

"Friendship happens in that special moment when someone reaches out to another. Trusts, comforts, believes in another.
Hopes the best for another
And makes a special difference no one else can make."
Author Unknown

This quotation about a friend best describes Cindy Adkins of Whimsical Musings, a friend to many of us in this circle of creative bloggers. Cindy is a caring, sharing, encouraging, kindred spirit. The most recent sweet thing Ms. Cindy has done for me is to help me celebrate a special milestone in my life. Besides all her supportive comments she also sent me some of her beautifully created gifts.

A beautiful tag!

A pretty cross was inside this sweet little match box!

If you haven't met Cindy or visited her blog you might want to hop on over to pay her a visit and check out all the blog-candy she has posted. Which reminds me, she actually has a Give-Away for Valentines Day called "Blog Candy" 'cause it's a big assortment of fantastic, delicious things you can use to create. I don't want to sound greedy but I sure hope I am the winner! Click on her link above or click on her Give Away button on my side bar.

Spot Prize Challenge

This double sided tag is a thank you for a sweet friend.
I used one of the images from my "give-away" banner, and mounted it onto decorative card stock. I added some glitter, sequin butterflies, a bit of feathery twine and a handwritten title, "Believing is magical..."
On the opposite side is a special quotation that I want to keep as a surprise for my friend
I'm going to link the tag to Dezinaworld's "Spot Prize Challenge" for this Thursday. The Theme this week is "Magic." Entering the challenge is a great extension to my celebration week.  Click on the link in this post or look for the challenge button on my side bar to visit the Dezinaworld site where you'll find wonderful images to purchase, great give-aways, plus boundless inspiration.

A Celebration Of Survivorship...Give-Away

January 17, 2006, I believe that the Lord guided the hands of my Gynecological Oncology Surgeon, Dr. Richard Belch, as he removed the advanced stage uterine cancer from my body. I believed it was gone after the surgery; however, my team of Oncology doctors strongly felt I needed more treatment. Several weeks after surgery the chemotherapy infusions began. Shortly after, the fourth chemo infusion radiation treatments began. Six months after surgery they had done all they could do; now we had to wait.
I am celebrating that after 5 years I am still cancer free. I thank God for the miracle and I cling to the HOPE of many more years of survivorship.

If you would like to share in my celebration you can participate in my give-away. Here’s all you have to do: For 1 chance leave a comment on this post. For a 2nd chance comment to let me know that you are a follower. For a 3rd chance grab my Give-Away button and post it on your blog side bar then come back and let me know.
The give-away begins on January 17 and ends on January 31.
Oh, what am I giving away? I’m giving away one of these “Hope Banners,”
I made one to give away and one to sell in my Etsy Shop.

Image Credits and thanks to: Gail at Shabby Cottage Studio and Karen at The Graphics Fairy.

I didn't have great lighting when I took these pictures. I will try to get better shots and re-post them, hope for sunshine.

Amour~amour...

My "Creative Spirit" guided me to making heart shaped tags. Credit must to given to Gail at Shabby Cottage Studio for the image of the woman (a free gift to her Face Book followers). The sheet music is from Dover Books and the flower graphic is from the-one-and-only Graphic's Fairy Karen. I'm linking up to Cindy Adkin's Whimsical Musings "Creative Spirit Challenge" for January. Then I'm going to hop on over to the Graphic Fairy and link up to "Brag Monday." I also want to credit Gail with teaching me how to make a collage heart in one of her digital classes. I'm surround by wonderful women who are so creative, talented, and generous. No wonder I'm having so much fun. I think these tags might be Etsy bound.

Happy Pink Saturday ~ January 8, 2011

Two great ladies I had the pleasure of working for took me to tea to celebrate my retirement on my last of of work, December 23, 2010.
There was so much pink in this lovely tea room that I had to save the photos for a pink Saturday post.
Abigail's Tea Room is a restored Victoria house. They serve a wonderful selection of teas, soups, finger sandwiches, and yummy desserts in a relaxing atmosphere. They also have a great gift shop. Click here to visit Abigail's online. Click here to visit Beverly, our PS hostess, at "How Sweet The Sound."

The desserts got a little messy on the trip home, I was too full to eat them at tea, aren't they so sweet?

I know it isn't pink but I just loved it...
