O the month of May, the merry month of May,
So frolic, so gay, and so green, so green, so green!....

I'm so excited to be posting for Tea Cup Tuesday with Terri at Artful Affirmations. I love to visit her on a Tuesday and look at the beautiful tea cup photos she always shares and visit some of the members of the tea party.
Months ago I found a tea cup and saucer in a local antique shop. At first I wasn't sure I wanted a tea cup with a month written inside the cup and on the saucer. I thought is was pretty, and I liked the shape and colors. Now, my friend, Terri could write a fabulous description of this cup telling you about the company where it was made and give all the fine details of the cup's design. I know nothing about the company except it is English. There is a pretty Lily Of The Valley flower pattern on the saucer and on the inside and outside of the cup. There is a gold edge on the cup and saucer and a green leaf pattern surrounds the edges of the cup and saucer. The featured month is "May." My mother and my great granddaughter were both born in May. I will celebrate both of them and drink tea in the cup in the merry month of May. I plan to give the cup to my great granddaughter when she is ready to collect tea cups ( she is having her first birthday this week!). Come back to visit on Saturday to see my May Queen!
Happy May!!
I'm also having a 200th post and book launching celebration and give away. If you would like to help me celebrate click on the previous post (or click here) leave a comment on that post and become a follower/friend for a chance to win one of my three give away gifts.
It's a lovely cup Linda! I too like the shape. May is a birthday month for my family too - two granddaughters, a stepmom (all on the same day), a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law. And yes I have sent the wrong parcel to the wrong one...but only once!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a pretty teacup! I love the month of May, and it's birhtmonth flower, the lily-of-the-valley! It's my youngest daughter's birthday, prom nights for my nieces, Nurse's month, Mother's Day, then wraps up with a holiday weekend honoring those who've fought for our freedoms.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Hello there dear Linda,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a delightful tea post with your month of May teacup. It's just so charmingly vintage and exquisitely beautiful as well. The Lily-of-the-valley motif is not only pretty, yet it has significance for you with your mom and your grandmother's birthdays in May, also with mothers day in May and now, soon.., your dear great grand baby girl's b-day coming up..,
May is indeed so lovely!
You are always most warmly welcome to visit, 'my little corner of 'Tuesday Tea Time In Blogland' as well, anytime of the week. ~ I would love to have you also pop by to visit and say 'hello'.

Hello Dear Linda, your cup today is so very lovely! I adore Lilly of the Valley and this pattern is the prettiest with the flowers and the green leaf trim! I know what you mean about collecting cups with the month name in them. I had not done it before, and then I came upon a June Royal Albert, and it was just soooo pretty! I brought it home for my daughter who's birthday is in June. So they won me over! Lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy May!
Hugs,
Teri
What a beautiful tea cup! I love the colors, especially the green used for the leaves. May is a great month for birthdays. Thanks for sharing, Michelle
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tea cup Linda and a sweet thing to pass on to your Grand daughter too. I love Lillie's of the Valley, my Grandmother always had them in her garden when I was young. It was also the first cologne scent I wore, fond memories.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea Linda, to drink a toast to them both with such a very pretty cup and saucer. I do like the shape of the cup....almost the shape of a lily itself. ♥
