However, January is a time for new beginnings, it is a time for change. Some people like to make resolutions in the new year, personally I'm not very good at sticking to them. I do make lists of things I'd like to accomplish each day or week or month. I thought a pretty journal would be a perfect place to write my notes and lists for this new year.
The clock and butterfly graphic are from Dezinaworld. The awesome vintage trumpeter lady is from Plush Possum Studio. The Susan B, Anthony stamp is from Wikipedia. The quotes are from Stamp in Up and Studio G clear stamps. I used several colors of Stickles glitter, a paper flower for her hair, a white feather for the fan, a butterfly and key charm, a silver brad in the clock and seam binding trim to decorate the plain spiral bound journal.

It is terribly hard to ever lose any loved one but even moreso during the holiday seasons. I am sorry for your losses. I lost my Mother on Christmas eve & hubby's g'ma Hepsie on Christmas Day. May all their souls rest peacefully.
ReplyDeleteYes, there comes a time for change ... & what a lovely change you have created for that time.
Have a fabulous weekend, Linda

Happy Pink Saturday and a Blessed New Year. I switched from saying Happy New Year, in respect to your losses in the past and for the promise to make changes by journaling. It is a beautiful journal. Some very nice items on it. Very creative. I like the butterflies, clock and key - well, all of it actually. Good idea! I was over on The Writer's Reverie earlier,Pink Link #121, and she mentioned her past year - making a promise, not a resolution. Sounds like what you're doing and it, do-able. And, looks like you have a journal you'd desire to both pen and look into. A very thoughtful post and promise. Jenn

That's the most gorgeous journal cover Linda! I think I'd be spending too much time looking at the cover and admiring it to read what was inside!! lol.
ReplyDeleteBut it's certainly a beautiful way to induce and inspire change for yourself!
Happy thoughts to you from me. xox
Hi Linda, thank you so much for stopping by and sharing your warm comment.
ReplyDeleteI scrolled down and read through several of your posts, but commented here because your journal stands out so beautifully. I also loved the tin and your words on hope. Like you, I don't make resolutions but LOVE lists, and journals are perfect for them.
By the way, January's bittersweet for me too. My dad went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 27, 2004.
I encourage you to celebrate life each and every morning that you open your eyes, for His new mercies and for the opportunity that every new day brings us to love.
Blessings to you, my dear.
Loved your music--especially Sea. :)
