Wedding Blog Party

Stephanie at Angelic Accents is hosting a Wedding Day Blog Party on Friday, June 10th. and we are all invited to attend. Click on her blog name above or on her party button located on my side bar to visit her and all her party guests and peruse the Wedding Day posts.

For my post I thought I'd share a little about my own (not traditional) wedding day. Forty years ago, on a snowy Thanksgiving Day, we were married. It was quite an eventful day with many unusual twists and turns, but by the end of the day we were married and we celebrated with family and friends.  Unfortunately we only took pictures with a Polaroid camera and these are the best we have.
The year was 1971, can you tell?

The kiss. Yes, we had a bestman and matron of honor.

  5. Congrats on 40 years! Gotta love the 70's right?! SO remember the polaroid cameras -- I never had one and always envied my friends who did and got those instant shots while I had to wait for the photo company to develop them and mail them back to me! Thanks for sharing!

  11. Oh, what precious pictures of the two of you! Congratulations on 40 years! Tomorrow is our anniversary ~ 37 yrs! Whose car got stuck in the snow?!? I can't think of anything much more romantic than getting married on a snowy Thanksgiving Day! Love that pic of the two of you. Your families look very happy, too. I'm not sure I ever heard of a wedding that didn't have some sort of fiasco or an "almost" moment! Our photographer forgot our wedding and when he still hadn't shown up, my mother called him and he was just starting out the door to go fishing. Luckily, I wasn't aware of any of this!!

I'm so glad you joined us for the Wedding Blog Party. My out of town relatives are gone now and I'm having so much fun visiting everyone's posts!
