Outside The Box Challenge


My "Soap Box Challenge" entry.

I've decide to call mine "A Soap Box Journal."
This one is all about butterflies. 





I made the 3 x 3 inch accordian folded book sometime ago leaving the pages blank inside. While working on the box I came across the book. I realized the book would fit perfectly inside the box.  I stained the paper pages with coffee and ink, and calligraphed the Native American Butterfly Legend inside. I stamped a butterfly image on the first and last pages of the book. I printed out a few butterfly images, stained the edges of the paper and tucked them inside the page pockets that are formed by folding a sheet of paper into 3 inch squares.   



This challenge was so enjoyable and rewarding. I love the soap and the skin conditioner. There will be more spa time as well as soap box creations...

    Oh my gosh Linda, it's AWESOME! First of all the box looks huge in the picture. You have so much going on with it, so many elements! I love the color you painted it & the piece on top, too cool!     Your box is stunning and what a wonderful idea, an accordian book tucked inside and then to top it off the legend of the butterfly! You are amazing! I make handmade books and it never even entered my mind...go figure LOL
