The Squirrel's Pink Tulip

Happy Pink Saturday!

I guess the squirrels thought this tulip would look good growing on the bank with the Creeping Myrtle. It is a pretty pink.

Dental Revelation ~ Pink Saturday

Please don't be jealous my Pink Saturday blogger friends.

I'm going to show you photos of my dentist and his office.
Yes - that is a pink and purple polka-dot rinsing bowl.

and...yes that is my dentist, Dr. Pinkly. I'm joking about his name being Dr. Pinkly. He does have a colorful name though, it's really Dr. Greenly. He doesn't dress like this in the office and I usually can't see his wings even though he is an angel.
Have you ever seen a dental service unit like this before?
It's the largest art collage I've ever seen.  It's called "Dental Revelation" and it's located in the reception area of Penn's Commons Dental Group, LTD. It is the vision of local artist, Peter Jon Snyder.  Peter used a 1930's dental service unit, paint, markers, plaster, computer imaged ceramics, cement, tiles, mirrors, and various found dental objects in the piece. All that pink journaling behind the piece is reflective of the artist's feelings and thoughts about the staff and the service they provide. I share his feelings too.
If you would like to meet the artist, here is a U-Tube video of Peter working on a gallery display of his work. All of you mixed-media pinkies who love to up-cycle things in your art will enjoy listening to Peter talk about how he creates his art.

Thank you Peter and Penn's Common Dental for allowing me to share this!

Spring Sharing~

I have found that among its other benefits,
giving liberates the soul of the giver.
~ Maya Angelou

My friend Marcia, at In Stillness and Simplicity used this quote in one of her recent posts. It expresses how I feel and it's perfect for my post today.

The following seven photos are things I made for several special people. The last photo is another gift I received this week.

These two tags were inspired by Abby at Little Birdie Blessings. Abby collects and shares beautiful vintage images and the Word of God on her blog. These are two of my favorite images from Abby. I made tags with them for two ladies who are an inspiration and a blessing to me. I'm also going to link them to Abby's  "Scripture Thursday blog party."

The matchbox bunnies contain some treasures and are on their way to two special friends. The paper I used to make these is from The April Color Challenge (pink and yellow) with the Gecko Galz Yahoo Group.

Four sweet friends will receive one wood posy. The Dollar Tree wooden flower cutouts are covered in decorative papers, glittered, and sporting vintage button centers that have been dyed with alcohol inks.

The image of the white rabbit is from Gecko Galz.  He made a sweet Easter tag for Tee at The Altered Paper, "Tag A Month" trade. I highlighted the violets in his egg basket with dabs of glitter and added a few extra paper flowers to his spring garden.

This egg ATC was inspired by Tee. I did make another one for Tee but I forgot to take a picture of it in my haste to get it mailed to her. This one is going to another sweet friend. I love butterflies, I hope she does too.

This tag background is a photo I took last year of my magnolia tree. I enlarged a few flowers, cut them out and edged them in glitter.
It's going to a special person.

I made the cards below from the card making kit I received from my Secret Blogging Sister. I used just a few additional embellishments that were not included in the kit to make the cards. I am sending them out to three friends. Thank you Blogging Sister.

The bundle of gifts below are from Mary at Hope-Filled Living. Mary had a give-away but rather than pick one person to receive her gift she sent a package of goodies to everyone who commented on her post.
